The Left Has Had a Bad Few Days

In the past 48 hours:

  • A mob at UNC tore down the American flag, only for Chancellor Lee Roberts to rehoist it and a group of patriotic students to stand guard protecting it.

  • Rumors are swirling that the State Highway Patrol, which answers to Gov. Roy Cooper, refused to offer meaningful support to university police trying to regain control of the UNC quad.

  • Gov. Cooper and Josh Stein have, as of this writing, remained bizarrely silent on the whole episode, choosing instead to stand to the left of President Joe Biden, who earlier today condemned the anarchists taking control of universities around the country.

Meanwhile, over in the Senate...

  • The Reform Majority advanced legislation to fully fund the wildly popular Opportunity Scholarship program, which every Senate Democrat opposed.

  • The Reform Majority took action on immigration, one of the most important flash points in the 2024 election cycle, by targeting sanctuary cities. Every Democrat opposed this one, too.

To recap, then: Key figures from one political party have acted against school choice, against immigration control, and refused to pipe up when a mob raised a Palestinian flag in the center of North Carolina's flagship campus.

Woof.
